The integration of migrant women in the labor market and society is an important objective, it contributes to all aspects of economic and social development in host countries. In Europe they are a large group and with varied levels of qualifications.

Female Migrant Workers on the move contribute significantly to the economies and societies of their countries of origin and destination, while improving their own lives. At the same time, they bring human capital without costing to the destination country and they can be the main drivers of social cohesion between migrant and host communities building a more inclusive, sustainable, and resilient world.

The project Athena, Approaches To valorize the High Entrepreneurial potential of migrant women, aims to contribute to the economic and social integration of migrant women into European society by improving entrepreneurship support services geared towards migrant women and by creating a specific entrepreneurial pathway that considers their needs and difficulties.The project reaches an important milestone, before starting its descent towards the final events planned for 2023.

The project’s international event is scheduled for 26 and 27 October in Rome, hosted by the splendid Goethe Institut in the heart of the capital. Two days of full immersion are planned, including coaching sessions and exchanges of experiences among the migrant women entrepreneurs or aspiring entrepreneurs who will come from the project partner countries. It will certainly be an unforgettable experience rich in content and inspiration, as well as possible future connections and synergies, among all the participating women.

A migrant woman entrepreneur contributes to the economic, social and cultural development of the host society if she has confidence, support networks, time, skills, access to quality education and business opportunities. An empowered migrant woman is an agent of change. Her potential is unlimited and her impact unstoppable.
